Review of The Kinsman Saga Ben Bova

The Kinsman Saga
Ben Bova
Avon Eos 2000
Pb 530pgs
ISBN# 0-380-79317-2

The story of astronaut Chet Kinsman, from his early days as an Air Force
trainee, through his eventual command of the first space station on the
moon and an examination of his various personal and professional trials and
tribulations along the way.

This a deftly written story, (here a recently reworked amalgamation of the
various Kinsman short stories and the novel Millennium) which, when
considering their original publication dates, successfully postulated such
technologies as "Star Wars", even if it missed the boat on political
east/west tensions.  Characterizations are clean and realistic, from the
sensitive Kinsman himself, to the Judas in waiting Colt.  All told, an
entertaining and thought provoking story, even if it is not a unique story
template.
